Hoye House, Hove, Sussex, 2010
Accel Consulting were appointed in 2010 to act as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on a "state of the art" private dwelling in the centre of Hove that will achieve Sustainable Homes Code 5. The most up to date technology and energy saving building techniques available in the country will be incorporated into the project.
St Dunstan's, Ovingdean , East Sussex, 2008 - 2010
Accel Consulting was proud to be involved as Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to St Dunstan's on their recent £2 million refurbishment of their residential care accommodation at Ovingdean, East Sussex.
The Works to the 1938 art deco building, which is Grade II listed, were completed, under a JCT Intermediate Form of Contract, on time, and on budget.
Apart from the main building contract, Accel Consulting was also responsible for the coordination of various highly specialist nursing equipment packages, as well as the Mechanical and Electrical installations.
St Dunstan's were kind enough to write to Accel Consulting after the project, confirming that "St Dunstan's would not hesitate in using Accel Consulting on projects in the future"

The Nurseries, Lewes, East Sussex, 2007 - 2010
Accel Consulting provided comprehensive Project Management, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying services to Blue Sonic Ltd on this recently completed £4.5 million development, comprising 18 contemporary houses for sale, together with 6 shared ownership flats for Downland Housing Association.
This is the third project that Accel Consulting have looked after for Blue Sonic, reporting directly to the two co-owners of the builder / developer, current Chief Executive of Camelot plc (and former Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year) Dianne Thompson CBE, and ex Camelot Director, Andrew Newton
29000 ft2 (gfa) of timber framed, closed panel housing was factory designed and fabricated in Germany by Streif Sustainable Building Systems, and imported by road and ferry over a 6 week period to be erected by German carpenters. The buildings were delivered with windows and external doors fitted, and pitched roofs felted and battened.
Accel were heavily involved in complex negotiations with the Environment Agency over flood risks on the site, and the Lewes Environmental Health in respect of various contamination issues.
We are looking forward to providing the same high level of service to Blue Sonic on their next development in Lewes, following their recent consent to build a further 32 units on a brownfield site close to the town centre. A complex remediation programme of the historic landfill on the site is getting underway in Spring 2010.

Richmond Lock, London Borough of Richmond, 2006 - 2010
Accel Consulting have provided Quantity Surveying services to Paragon Housing Group on a regular basis since 2003. The most recently completed project of 69 shared ownership and rented units was as part of the prestigious Octagon Development on the Thames at Richmond. The total value, of £7.1 million was procured and administered by Accel under the Target option of the forward thinking New Engineering Contract.
Confirming the ongoing relationship with RUTCHT, Accel Consulting was appointed in 2009 as Quantity Qurveyors on two new projects; at Chessington, Surrey (21 houses) and at Staines, Middlesex (14 flats).

Hassocks Parish Council, 2010
Accel Consulting are pleased to be appointed as Quantity Surveyors to Hassocks Parish Council in connection with their new £320,000 Sports Pavilion at Adastra Park. The new building is designed by Sussex Architects, Ecotecture, and will incorporate the most up to date energy efficient designs and technology.

Brighton College, 2002 - 2008
During this 6 year period, Accel Consulting provided Project Management and Quantity Surveying services to Brighton College on numerous Maintenance and Refurbishment projects at the Grade II Listed College estate.
These included various re-roofing projects, essential stonework and flint work repairs. On several of these projects, Accel Consulting acted as Principal Contractor, working closely with the HSE.
Accel Consulting also co-ordinated several major refurbishment projects, including School House, Fenwick House, Williams, and the Grade II Listed Gilbert Scott Library


Legends Hotel, Club and Bar, Brighton, East Sussex, 2005 - 2007
Accel Consulting acted as Quantity Surveyors amd Contract Administrators for "Legends" on this £2.25 million hotel refurbishment on Brighton's Marine Parade.
The completed project comprised 40 bedrooms, a ground floor bar / restaurant and a basement nightclub.


Cricket Pavilion, Brighton College, East Sussex, 2007
Accel Consulting acted as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on this traditional oak framed cricket pavilion, the Sammy Woods Pavilion, built on the Brighton College Home Ground; Architect was Miller Bourne Partnership, Structural Engineer was Gyoury Self Partnership.

Overseas Experience; 2000 - 2008
During this period, Gavin Chatfield was a regular visitor to Lebanon, providing Project Management and Quantity Surveying advice to the Beirut office of Groupe ECO.

This Anglo-French bureau of Economistes was predominantly involved in the Cost and Project Management of numerous restoration projects for Solidere, in the Beirut Conservation Area. Gavin Chatfield was personally involved in over 40 projects, particularly in the Foch-Allenby, Saifi, and Souks districts of the city. These projects provided Gavin Chatfield and Accel Consulting with a wealth of experience in stone building restoration techniques.

During this time Gavin also worked extensively in France, including acting as resident Project Economiste on a 6* private villa and garden estate at Mandelieu, overlooking Cannes.

The Bridge Community Centre, English Partnerships, 2003 - 2005
Accel Consulting provided full pre and post contract Quantity Surveying services to this £1.4 million Hasting urban regeneration initiative sponsored by English Partnerships and SURESTART.

High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, 2007 - 2008
Accel Consulting were engaged by The Bank of Scotland to act as Monitoring Surveyors on this speculative new build project at High Wycombe, comprising 12 new flats on a brown field site.
During 2008, we also acted in a similar capacity for Clydesdale Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Sussex Square Mews, Brighton, East Sussex, 2005 - 2006
Accel Consulting acted as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on this brownfield development in the heart of Brighton.

St John Ambulance, New Headquarters, Brighton, 2005 - 2006
Accel Consulting were appointed as Quantity Surveyors on this "state of the art" new headquarters for St John Ambulance in Brighton.
